All donations are tax deductible. Journey Sports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Any monetary contribution you make, you will receive a receipt.

How are scholarships determined?

Journey Sports has a review process that evaluates each family’s needs and situation. Scholarships are determined and addressed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available.

Can I Volunteer?

Yes! There are many ways to volunteer for Journey Sports programs/events! We periodically need volunteers to help with various events to aid our all-volunteer staff. We welcome volunteers for coaching, mentoring, and event assistance. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering, apply online or contact us at hello@journeysports.net or check out all the ways you can help at our Get Involved page.

What sports programs do you offer?

We offer baseball, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, soccer, and flag football.

Who can participate in your programs?

Our programs are open to youth ages 6-18, regardless of skill level. We welcome all children in the community who are eager to learn and grow through sports.

Where are your programs located?

We operate at various Journey Sports locations, utilizing gymnasiums, and school locations in Marion, Cedar Rapids, and Oelwein

How do I register my kid for a program?

Complete the registration form and submit any required documents. Registration deadlines vary by season, so check the schedule for details.

What equipment or gear is required?

Journey Sports athletes need appropriate athletic shoes and sport-specific gear. Some equipment, like jerseys and balls, may be provided. Details will be shared upon registration.

Are there tryouts or can anyone join?

Some Journey Sports programs are open to all without tryouts. Competitive teams may have evaluations to determine placement.

Can children with disabilities participate?

We strive to accommodate all children at Journey Sports. Please inform us of any special needs so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Do volunteers and coaches need prior experience?

Prior experience is helpful but not required for general volunteers. However, we do require experience for our Coaching positions.

Are background checks required for volunteers?

Yes, all volunteers and coaches must pass a background check to ensure the safety of our Journey Sports athletes.
